Good practice in research data management

Researchdata.se – Manage data provides resources to help researchers manage, preserve, and make research data available in line with good data management practice. The information is organized to reflect the data lifecycle: planning, collection, processing, analysis, preservation, sharing, and reuse.

A central part of the material concerns the management of research data containing personal information. These web pages provide general guidance on how the GDPR, Swedish legislation, local regulations, and ethical guidelines can be applied in different research-related situations.

The Manage data pages also include SND’s recommendations on suitable file formats for sharing research data for reuse by secondary users and for long-term preservation of research data in archives. These recommendations are updated on an ongoing basis. In addition, the material includes advice on creating a well-structured folder hierarchy for data files and on naming and versioning files in ways that supports an identifiable revision history.
