Openscience.se

The website Openscience.se serves as a national portal for information and guidance on open science.

Its main focus is on:

  • the areas identified as priorities in the national guidelines for open science
  • the organizations that lead and coordinate the transition to an open science system
  • the policy documents and resources that are important to be aware of.

The purpose of the website is to support and further develop the transition to a more open, transparent, and sustainable science system in Sweden. Through up-to-date, quality-assured, and coordinated information, Openscience.se contributes to a consistent and appropriate application of open science principles at Swedish higher education institutions. The website also serves as an outward-facing, English-language entry point for international stakeholders in the field.

The primary target group for Openscience.se is the leadership of Swedish higher education institutions, as well as research support functions such as university libraries and research administration. The website is also aimed at other stakeholders within the research system, for example research funders, research infrastructures, and policy actors with responsibility for or an interest in open science.

Openscience.se was initiated by the Association of Swedish Higher Education Institutions (SUHF) and is run in collaboration with the Swedish National Data Service and the National Library of Sweden. The initiative is supported by the Swedish Research Council, Formas, Forte, and Vinnova. This collaborative model is intended to ensure national anchoring, high-quality content, and the long-term sustainable development of the website.
